Knowing that my daughter is getting older and will need me to keep being her super hero, being there for her and my wife in time of need and comfort. I am the rock and in order to continue to be so, I need to strong and motivated so my daughter can see me in action on a day to day basis and hopefully she is paying attention and she will have the same drive and dedication as she gets older.

What do you enjoy most about writing?

I enjoy the creativity of the mind to be able to write down on paper or type out what’s on the mind. Answering these prompts daily especially when a question is in my wheel house is a way for me to answer them fluently. I can write for hours when I have a topic I can relate. Sometimes when it’s a question I can’t relate to, it tends to make me put my thinking cap on and focus on how to respond, and when I do it flows like a river. I call it free styling, I like to write what comes to mind for awhile and then when I’m done, I can edit what I wrote and fix any punctuation as I’m going through my piece.

What do you love about where you live?

The peace and quiet is a major plus where I live, no traffic, there is two lakes within walking distance, the schools are awesome where I live at. I spent my first 30 years of life living in Flint, Michigan and when I moved to where I’m at now is like night and day in all aspects of life. I love the city I grew up in, as I get older, I realize that I like the peace and quiet. I have an acre garden where I grow vegetables and some fruit and to be able to go outside and pick some tomatoes or corn knowing where it came from is priceless. Knowing that my family is having some home grown quality produce is nice. I absolutely love where I live and I am grateful for it.

What positive emotion do you feel most often?

Joy is awesome when you lean into it, when it fires you up, if it’s some good music that gets you going, something you heard that you can relate to you, or something or someone that gives you a piece of clarity. You can feel that energy and possibly pass it on, to leave an individual presence and have them thinking about the joy you have brought to them in conversation, acknowledgment etc.

How do you plan your goals?

One word and that is visualization. Its puts me in that place in front of my goals all the time. When I plan my goals I sit down and I meditate and while I’m clearing my mind from all the mayhem from the daily grind, I incorporate goals along the way so that way I can see and feel me completing my goals and it seems to transpire when I do just that.

Create an emergency preparedness plan.

My household knows to gather there to go bags and meet in the driveway with the dogs, we have practiced it a couple of times in the case of a emergency. My shed has a nice amount of necessities as well and is right next to the road getting out of my neighborhood. We talk about things like this from time to time never having a doubt that it’s possible, we are not bunker seeking, world war z type of people, but we just have conversations about a lot of different things and having to leave our home together for anything catastrophic is one of those topics.

What is a word you feel that too many people use?

Diabolical. I have heard so many people use this word on every social media platform, in stores, on the phone when I’m talking with someone. It’s like it showed up as if it was summoned or something. It has gotten so bad that it seems like every third word out of someone’s mouth is diabolical. I don’t understand how we as people tend to be such followers of some of the most silliest things it baffles me. If we followed each other in doing great things and helping others the way we follow each other doing the opposite , this world would be pretty awesome, but no we rather be goofy instead.

What brings you peace?

Putting the lord first, my loving family and the joy they all shine on me is what gives me peace. Staying away from negativity, protecting my peace by meditating, praying, writing and drawing is an added bonus when it comes to my peace. I like to work out a couple times a week as well. Protecting your peace is key in this life especially in the times we live in.
