Staying active after work

What are you doing this evening?

I am going to workout per usual this evening when I get off work, it keeps me motivated to want more. I like to keep moving for a while after work because I feel once I take my shoes or boots off, the day is over and I want to get some reps in before I take my shoes off. I use to go fishing in the evenings, but that slowed down because the fishing spot I used to go to for overcrowded with a bunch of kids. My wife and I used to catch a movie in the early evening, but her online business picked up heavy so I just go in the garage, put some music on and get active in our garage gym for an hour or so.

Flags everywhere

What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

A negative gossiper is the main red flag trait for me with someone, someone who is always talking down about someone all the time. Never has nothing good to say about anyone, and if you think about it, the longer you hear from this person, you begin to speak in a negative tongue about said person. It’s like a domino effect and it happens all the time. The negative talks, the bad energy, listening makes one feel the same when you have not thought about a person the same way someone else feels. The energy is real and that is why I meditate and cleanse to the point I have a force field so that kind of talk don’t req h my aura and steal my joy.

MJ

Name the professional athletes you respect the most and why.

I really respect what Michael Jordan did for the game of basketball and his impact on the sport to this day. He has been out the league for many moons and he still has an impact on today’s game. I used to have a lot of his apperal as a kid, but now that I’m older and a father of a child, all my money goes to her lol, but on a serious note, I admire Michael Jordan as a person, dad, father and overall inspiration.

Speaking out loud

How do you relax?

I first have a conversation with the almighty most high, then I have a few moments with myself to meditate and center myself. I give thanks for everything I have and the things I ask for that I have yet to receive. I read a few pages in a book. Drawing is another way to unwind for me, I like to doodle a bit on top of reading.

Man of many words

If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

I could give up saying the word ok, it’s a word I do use a lot throughout my day, but I can easily stop saying it. It’s kinda of semi lazy, short in and out response. I would replace it worth words like sure, of course, I got it etc. I’m going to do it today now that’s this prompt was brought up and see how I do. May all be well with you guys today…

I am not

Are you holding a grudge? About?

No I am not holding a grudge, I use to hold a grudge towards my father for many years. When he left my mother I was a little boy and didn’t know anything of it so it didn’t bother me, but when I got to the age where I understood the effects of it, that’s when I realized I felt a way towards him. Yeah we would talk here and there once or twice a year, and sometimes once every few years. He had been fighting demons his whole life, he would reach out and talk about getting together and when we set dates, it never transpired so I keep it moving. I reached out to see how he’s doing and as usual, the empty promises showed up again so I said screw it. It wasn’t until I was in my late 30’s I visited him in a hospital and told him I’m no longer mad at him, I love him, I forgive him for him walking out on my mom and I and I put that grudge to rest. I said you are my father and thank you for the handful of times we did speak, hope you get better and I’ll see you later…

Over the road

Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.

I have traveled the United States plenty of times as a former truck driver many years ago after my divorce. I did long haul which means cross country 3-4 weeks traveling with a co driver. I have been everywhere, from California to New York, North Dakota to Laredo Texas and it was some of the best times of my life. Before than only places I’ve traveled to was Sandusky Ohio and that was going to an amusement park called cedar point a handful of times. When I was an over the road trucker my co driver and I would sometimes get down time in random cities and get to hang out and check out the city we were in at that time. Some places were super boring but we made the best out of it. I did it for about 2 years and then my kid was born and being gone for 3-4 weeks and home for a couple days, I couldn’t stand being away from my kid for that long and that’s when I decided to give up my keys and be home with my current wife and kid so I can experience being a dad.

My dream castle

What does your ideal home look like?

A beautiful ranch style home with about 10 acres of trails and a small Forrest’s my back drop. I would love around 4 German Shepards as pets as well. 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and a fully furnished basement. I would have a pole barn on the side of my home where I would have my zero turn lawn mower and my side by side stored inside of it. My ideal home is white on the inside and cherry walnut floors on the inside, with ten foot ceilings. That is my ideal home.

What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

Watching my wife said I do.
