What’s a book you never finished but still think about?
When a Book Becomes a Bridge
There are books we choose, and then there are books that choose us. Presence‑Driven Prayer has been one of those books for me — a book I’ve picked up, set down, restarted, and returned to more times than I can count. Not because I didn’t want to finish it, but because every time I opened it, I felt something deeper calling me to slow down and really absorb what was inside.
This book didn’t just come from a shelf. It came from a connection — a fellowship, a church, and a woman who saw something in my story worth nurturing.
A Delivery Route That Turned Into Something More
I deliver to this church a few times a week. At first, it was just another stop on my route. But over time, one of the ladies who works there started talking with me. Nothing forced, nothing heavy — just genuine conversation. The kind that feels like a breath of fresh air in the middle of a busy day.
She asked about life. I shared a little of my story — how I battled addiction for a while, how I fought my way back, how I rebuilt myself piece by piece. Not looking for sympathy, just speaking truth.
And she listened. Really listened.
When Someone Sees Your Growth
There’s something powerful about being seen — not for your mistakes, but for your transformation. She took a liking to my story, not because it was perfect, but because it was real. And one day, she handed me a book.
Then another.
Then another.
Books about prayer, presence, healing, spiritual growth — books meant to strengthen the parts of me I had already been rebuilding. She didn’t preach at me. She didn’t judge me. She simply offered tools, guidance, and wisdom.
Presence‑Driven Prayer was the first one that stuck.
Why This Book Matters to Me
This book speaks to something I’ve been learning slowly: prayer isn’t just words. It’s presence. It’s awareness. It’s stepping into stillness and letting God meet you there.
Every time I try to finish it, life gets busy — but I always come back to it. And maybe that’s the point. Some books aren’t meant to be rushed. Some books are meant to walk with you.
The Beauty of Unexpected Fellowship
I never expected a delivery stop to turn into a spiritual connection. I never expected someone to care enough to hand me books that could help me grow. But that’s how God works — quietly, subtly, through people we meet in ordinary moments.
This woman didn’t just give me books. She gave me encouragement. She gave me perspective. She gave me reminders that my story matters and that my growth is worth investing in.
A Reminder for Anyone Reading This
If you’re on a journey — healing, rebuilding, rediscovering yourself — pay attention to the people God places in your path. Pay attention to the conversations that feel warm. Pay attention to the books, the messages, the moments that keep returning to you.
Sometimes the things we need most don’t come loudly. They come gently.
Just like Presence‑Driven Prayer did for me.

Closing Thoughts
This book is still teaching me. Still guiding me. Still reminding me that presence is powerful — and prayer is more than a routine. It’s a relationship.
And maybe the reason I haven’t finished it yet is because the story isn’t finished either.
